CASA EMERGENTE
emergent shelter (2016)
A 7.8 earthquake devastated most of the coast of Ecuador on April 16, 2016. Due to the emergency state of those days a lot of people became homeless overnight.
This expected prototype project was developed in the aftermath of the event as a way to a hands on fast construction with recycled pallets, tires and cheap materials to allow for people to help build a shelter for this or other natural disasters that may occur. Each model unit is meant to have an occupancy of 4 to 5 persons at a time.
